Thank you to everyone who came out on Thursday, November 7th to make the Buffalo Peace House Fall Fling and Awards Dinner a HUGE success! We could not have done it without our many generous volunteers, sponsors, award winners, and attendees!
Special thanks to our Gold Sponsors: Dick & Karen Penfold, Silver Sponsors: The Culinary Institute of Niagara Falls Culinary Club and Chef John Matwijkow, and unofficial Bronze Sponsors: the Neumeister family. Chef John and his team of culinary students prepared an awesome Thanksgiving inspired meal, served everyone dinner and dessert, and ensured the kitchen was spotless before the culmination of the night. Thanks to all of you for your professionalism and hard work – and the truly delicious food! The night was made even more special with the melodies of Equinox to get the night started, while guest speaker Amy Fleischauer, Director of Victim Services at International Institute of Buffalo closed out the night with a thought-provoking speech.
Thanks also to all those who donated gift baskets for our silent auction, and to the following businesses for your contributions: Lexington Coop, Tops Friendly Markets, The Great Pumpkin Farm, Uncle Joe’s Diner, and Maureen’s Buffalo Wholesale Flower Market.
We also want to thank all of our Award Winners, who were chosen based on their significant long-standing commitment and support to the Buffalo Peace House. The Founder’s Award was presented to The Pastoral Care & Social Outreach Committee of St. Francis of Assisi Parish, the Philanthropist Award went to Dick & Karen Penfold, and last, but not least, the Family Award was given to the Neumeister family. A BIG thank you from the Board and staff of the Buffalo Peace House for your endless support.

Thanks to everyone who came out to support, or made donations, for our 2nd Annual Buffalo Peace House Golf Tournament!
Our 2nd Annual Golf Tournament took place on a 2nd annual rainy Saturday. The committee (especially Chris, Frank & Ryan) worked hard and were rewarded with an 800% increase in actual golfers on the course (i.e. 2012 = 0, 2013 = 8). The cocktail hour began two hours early and then forty-nine soggy celebrators sat down for a jolly good supper. Again, everyone was a winner of an array of golf gifts as well as huge raffle prizes (mostly in bottles) and a split club. The volunteer bartender was especially happy with his “tip,” and has begun to give back to the BPH.
We had wonderful gifts and baskets donated for the event, and delicious appetizers and buffet style dinner consisting of cheese plates, stuffed mushrooms, bruschetta, sliced ham and roast beef, caprese salad, green salad, roasted potatoes, and lazy perogi. Oh, and let’s not forget the dessert – We had several delicious chocolate, lemon, and malted milk ball pies to choose from!
